St. Joseph Academy's Carmina Tijerina is signing with UTRGV volleyball. 

"On my visit, I really liked the campus, and the coach, and the girls," Tijerina said.

Tijerina is a TAPPS All-State honorable mention and has totaled over 1,000 career digs. She helped lead St. Joseph Academy to their first ever bi-district title in volleyball this past season.

Tijerina also competed with the Venom volleyball program out of Edinburg at the national competition in Utah last month. In signing with UTRGV, she follows in her sister Regina's footsteps who also played for the program.

"She just told me to lock in," Carmina Tijerina said of her sister's words of advice. "In the beginning especially. To give it my all at all times, every practice no matter how I feel to always just give it my all."
