The La Feria girls golf team is making school history. They received third place at regionals, qualifying for State as a team for the first time. La Feria is also the only 4A school from the valley heading the State.
Senior, Miah Munoz said, "it gets me very happy and excited because this is my final year and I'm able to end my senior year with going to state."
This win is extra special for head coach David Briones, as his niece Alliana is a junior on the team. They'll be headed to State together as a family.
"I've been coaching her since she was 5 years old, she's grown up around me and in high school I get to officially coach her so it's been fun and getting to watch her develop, get better every year," said coach Briones.
The girls are ready to make more history as they head up to Georgetown in pursuit of a State title.
"It's an all year sport, so we practice all year round and we've put in the work and I think we're all ready," said junior Alliana Briones.
